A new business seat and more sustainable dining: Air France continues its upscale strategy for elegant and responsible travel.

A new business travel standard that combines refinement and intimacy, to be discovered on board 12 Boeing 777-300s as of this fall;
Offer a new, sustainable and balanced French catering in all booths departing from Paris from the end of 2022.
Air France continues its strategy of raising the bar and today unveils its new commercial long-haul seat, elegantly re-emphasizing the art of French travel. Constantly evolving to offer the highest level of comfort, the company is rethinking its iconic seat, all in curves and softness, to offer an entirely new version.

This takes the concept of the three “Fs”: whole apartmentComes in a true flat bed about 2m in length; full accesseach with direct access to the driveway and complete privacy, for optimum privacy. The new sliding door allows you to completely privatize your space, thus preserving the rest of the cabin. For even more closeness when traveling for two, the seats in the middle of the cabin now have a center wall that can be simply lowered. Then there is plenty of communal living space to enjoy the ride together. The chair also has a large 17.3-inch 4K HD anti-reflective screen, equipped with noise-canceling headphones, new Bluetooth connectivity that allows you to use your headphones, and multiple sockets.

Upon settling on board, a backlit winged seahorse is welcomed, which embodies the company’s founding legend and the richness of its history. Inside the seat, the padding provides a feeling of softness and intimacy. Wool, brushed aluminum and full-grain French leather, Air France preferred noble, soft and natural materials for its manufacture. Finally, each armchair is embroidered with a red accent, the company’s brand symbol.

Thus, Air France introduces a new standard dedicated to this cabin of travel. It will be gradually rolled out on 12 Boeing 777-300 aircraft from September 2022, each equipped with 48 seats in the business cabin.

On board these aircraft, the company also installs its latest premium economy (48) and economy (273) seats for optimum travel comfort. All cabins elegantly display the colors of the brand’s identity: navy blue, white that brings light and contrast, and touches of red.

Called “Fontainebleau,” the first aircraft equipped with these new cabins and equipped with Wi-Fi will fly to New York-JFK in the fall.

Economy Class, Premium Economy, Optimum Luxury
In the premium economy class cabin, Air France offers its latest model of the “lounge chair” (reclining seat), which was already presented on board the Airbus A350, with improved comfort. On board, each person has 96 cm of space to stretch their legs. The seat foam has been reformulated, and the navy blue fishbone texture provides added softness. The back tilts up to 124 degrees and is widened to provide more privacy. The noise reduction helmet fits snugly for ease of use at any time during the flight. USB A and C sockets complete the package.

In the economy cabin, the seats also meet the highest standards of comfort available on the market. Each has a seat width of 43 cm, tilt of 119 degrees and legroom of 79 cm. The seat back is comfortable and provides enhanced lateral support. A USB A port is also available.

These two cabins offer a large 13.3-inch screen with 4K HD resolution and are equipped with Bluetooth technology. Perfect for discovering over 1000 hours of on-demand entertainment.

Offer more responsible catering
A highlight of the flight, Air France is committed to providing a responsible and balanced French dining offering to all of its customers who fly long distances from Paris. In the business booth, the star-studded French chefs follow each other to serve up plant-based combinations as well as refined dishes based on red or white meat or fish. At Premium Economy, customers now have a delicious offer tailored to them. In Premium Economy and Economy, meals are systematically rated Nutri-Score A or B.

By the end of 2022, the company pledges to offer on all its flights departing from Paris, all cabins combined, meat, dairy and eggs 100% of French origin, plus fish from sustainable fishing only. A vegetarian dish will also be presented systematically and all meals will be prepared entirely in France. Baby and baby menus will only be prepared from organic farming products.

In addition, as part of the fight against food waste, this year Air France is rolling out the possibility to pre-select your hot meal in Business Class before departure. This service combines the guarantee of the customer’s choice with the most fair consumption. The company is also committed to recycling and removing 90% of single-use plastics on board its aircraft by early 2023. To that end, Air France continues to develop environmentally designed in-flight items made from biological materials such as bagasse or cellulose. Finally, when some items cannot be carried on board, they are donated to charity.

Serving sustainable food is part of Air France’s roadmap to more responsible travel. The company rejects its initiatives under the Air France law poster. All these procedures can be found at
