Trade is also done online

Since the beginning of the health crisis, the city of Bort-les-Orgues has supported its merchants, notably via the Ma ville Mon shopping platform.

The municipality, called Small Towns of Tomorrow, has signed a three-year partnership with the platform to support local trade and crafts. Thanks to this partnership, supported by the Bank of Regions with a value of 20 thousand euros, professionals can take advantage of a space to sell online and make their business more visible.

Bortois can find all local offers in one click and take advantage of promotions supported by the city. The shops of Borte merchants, artisans and producers, registered on the platform, are available online 24 hours a day with the possibility of home delivery by courier, Colissimo delivery anywhere in France, or Click & Collect.

Many merchants and craftsmen already offer their services online on the platform, for sale remotely or in-store. Others use it as a simple offer to promote their products, in-store purchases only.

E-commerce is a means of promoting shops and displaying Bortoise, outside the municipal boundaries. Grouping professionals on the same page makes it possible to get an additional sales team.

For those who have not yet registered, the Town Hall encourages them to do so thanks to the free registration and Vincent Thomas, the digital reference, available for any information at L’Espace Numérique.

Raising business awareness

For Françoise Géraudie, who runs Pépins de pomme, this platform is a plus. “During confinement, we all thought of a solution so that we could continue to operate. An offer of the Ma ville Mon shopping platform was made by the Town Hall to all merchants. It seems like a good solution to create a showcase or commercial location for our stores,” she says before listing the advantages. « L’avantage de cette plateforme, c’est que l’on peut retrouver tous les commerces de la ville en un seul endroit, ce qui permet de faire une communication groupée, et de mettre en avant le commerce de proximité tout en étant sur Site. For Françoise Géraudie, this platform is “a tool for connecting merchants and customers. The goal is to introduce our business to more people, promoting local purchases rather than to large merchant sites. The merchant’s focus is on reaching new customers who do not necessarily want to spend time in the store but who do.” Depreciate on the spot in spite of everything. Another advantage: the potential buyer has an overview of the store and can contact the dealer if necessary, to get more information. “The aim is not to replace physical trade, which remains necessary for all cities to maintain their attractiveness, but to provide An additional means of consuming locally,” the store owner specifies.
